Having scored raves and several awards over the course of its festival play last year, the Adrienne Barbeau-starring horror short ALICE JACOBS IS DEAD is now available for widespread viewing, and its creator tells Fango that we’ll likely be seeing more of the story.

ALICE JACOBS IS DEAD, which we previously reported on here, stars genre veteran Barbeau as the wife of a scientist (BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS’ John LaZar) who has developed the cure for a widespread zombie virus—but can’t save her from succumbing. Indieflix picked up the distribution rights and has made it available to view on-demand here; it’s also on sale at Amazon.com on DVD for just $5.95, with a bunch of special features:

The Big C Starring Edie Falco, Made Laura Linney Get GG Award

Laura Linney won the Golden Globe 2011 Best Actress TV Series Comedy / Musical thanks to the role of Cathy, people with cancer in The Big C, which aired on Channel Diva.  Laura victory deserves thumbs up. No wonder he managed to defeat a series of famous actress nominated, such as Lea Michele (Glee), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie) and Toni Collette (United States of Tara).

But she could not attend this ceremony because of his father, Romulus Linney, died a day before the Golden Globe Awards, in Los Angeles, USA, for lung cancer suffered. When the announcement of the winner was when she was with family in Germantown, New York. Previously, despite the loss of Laura’s moment of triumph this year, Romolus had witnessed when she first won a Golden Globe in 2008 for his performance in the TV movie John Adams and three Emmy Awards and nine Oscar nominations.

As we know, she plays Cathy Jamison figure who was diagnosed with melanoma (a type of deadly skin cancer) stage 4. He finally decided to enjoy every second of life, more free and make decisions and choices that make him happy.

pretty little liars episode 15

Spencer is feeling awkward about something, the girls have a little backbiting distress, and A is just as busy as ever, on tonight’s episode of “Pretty Little Liars,” “If At First You Don’t Succeed, Lie, Lie Again”.

Let’s start with Spencer, who is with the other PLLs one morning after a sleepover. Aria’s been studying the photo of Alison from last week’s episode, and trying to figure out whose shadow is in the picture. Spencer looks at it as if she may already know something about that shadow.

Aria is so exciting about her upcoming first real date with Ezra (Spencer has scored her two tickets to an art opening at a Philadelphia museum), and since it’s out of town, they won’t have to sneak around (and let’s face it, shouldn’t a teacher-student love affair be allowed to surface?). But unbeknownst to Aria, a monkey wrench is thrown into the best-laid plans…

Hanna, who’s reeling from her mom’s grim news that the bank loan is being called into question by Mrs. Potter, deals with A’s latest “deal”: Hanna will get more of the missing money if she “outs” Aria’s relationship with Ezra. She arranges for Aria’s mother Ella to get a ticket for the same art opening. Hanna’s conscience tells her not to set up Aria, but circumstances prevent her from retrieving the ticket. She shows up at detention, and somehow the school’s new Mr. Fix-It, Caleb, knows a little about Hanna’s difficulty. Hanna later tries to warn Aria away from the date, but Aria thinks her friend is being a jealous hater. I hate it when the PLLs fight, don’t you?

Emily, newly re-engaged in her swim team, breaks a record during a practice lap, which angers Paige, the alpha-dog of the team. When the coach drools all over Emily, Paige threatens Em with revealing the team she really plays for. Emily tells Spencer, who apparently tells the coach, who confronts both Emily and Paige. Emily is humiliated by Spencer’s actions and tells her so. More infighting between the girls…

Spencer, armed with the photo, goes to Alison’s brother Jason, thinking that he must have taken the picture from his bedroom. He admits that he could have taken it, but he was so messed up at that time, he says he doesn’t really remember it. He also says that he partied a lot that summer with Ian. In any event, he takes the photo to his family’s P.I., who verifies that it’s real. But this only troubles Spencer more…

Finally, Spencer forces herself to remember the last time she saw Alison. The two had a big fight, after which Alison left. Spencer followed her, and somehow, the picture was taken at that moment, meaning that it’s Spencer’s shadow in the photo! You know who else seems to figure out Spencer’s in the photo? Jason!

What will Jason think of this surprise? Hanna apparently owes Caleb a favor, but how will he collect on it? Will Aria find out that her estranged parents reconnected?

From the Who Knew? file comes this: "Nurse Jackie" star Edie Falco is launching a cabaret career.
Falco, who stars in the Showtime comedy, will make her cabaret debut Sunday, teamed with fellow "Nurse Jackie" cast member Stephen Wallem, a cabaret regular.
The two will perform three nights at 7 p.m. at the Laurie Beechman Theater in the West Bank Cafe (407 W. 42nd St.).
They're calling the show "The Other Steve and Edie," and it will feature their take on songs from contemporary pop to jazz standards, as well as show tunes and original material. Reservations are mandatory. For information, call (212) 695-6909.

Kim Kardashian appeared on the cover of W Magazine last October, and the photo leaves little to the imagination. Now, it comes out that Kardashian was upset over the photos. She said on her new E! reality show, Kourtney & Kim Take New York, Sunday night, that she was less than happy with the magazine.
She said about the Mark Seliger photos, “I was naked, but fully covered in silver paint. This artist will put images of architecture and buildings and stuff on top of me so you will see my body shape and the outline, but not actually my boobs or anything.”
Kim cried to her sister, Kourtney, “I’m more naked here than I was in my Playboy. I’m so f***ing mad right now.…She promised I would be covered with artwork.…This is serious porn…you can see nipple.” She added, “I’ve definitely learned my lesson.”
Her mom, Kris Jenner, eventually consoles her saying the cover was done artfully.
Kim told Ryan Seacrest later, “At the end of the day, they are gorgeous photos, and I’m glad I did it, and I love them. But at the time, I was shocked about how they weren’t how I thought they would be.”

American Idol' lacking bite in Music City

Delusional "singers" and camera-hogging novelty acts dominated the show, which took up an hour compared to the two devoted to the sonically richer environs of Milwaukee Wednesday. Somewhere Hank Williams is weeping.

Only a few stand-out singers appeared on the show. Best was Adrienne Beasley, a farm worker with a slightly unusual back story. She's a 22-year-old African-American who was raised by a white family. Beasley's style tapped into the deeper history of country music, bypassing the slick cliches of modern Nashville. Her unpretentious style suited the setting of the auditions, the historic Ryman Auditorium.
Also gaining traction, as well as the clear favor of the judges, was Lauren Alaina. She had a backstory, too (a seeming pre-requisite this year). The woman who inspired her to sing - her cousin Holly - recently went through chemotherapy for a brain tumor. Remarkably, Alaina didn't exploit this in front of the judges (who were surely tipped). She hardly needed the edge. Aliana ably navigated the tricky melody of a song Tyler had sung himself: Diane Warren's "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing."
The show opened with another compelling tale: a romantic couple who used to perform as a duo, but who now sing apart.  The male of the pair, Bob Bolin, stood out above his distaff half, with a voice that recalls Ray Lamontagne's.  The pair sang even better together, on the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody" - an endorsement of coupled conventionality well-suited to "Idol's" insistence on family values over all.
Naturally, they both got the golden ticket.
A cluster of males, cordoned off into a montage, also made it through the old mill, all singing soul songs instead of country. Their chosen genre served to stress the power of both genres in this region.
Once again Thursday, other singers squeezed through by less earned means. Matt Dillard, a 27-year-old Bubba-type, sounded like an unseasoned Josh Grobin. The judges weren't wowed, but they moved him on, if only to fill out the ranks. Likewise, a former Miss Teen USA contestant improbably named Stormi Henley went on, even though the judges acknowledged that vocalizing wasn't her strong suit.
"That may be the smallest voice we've heard so far," complained Jennifer Lopez, who acknowledged the young singer's beauty.
It made for an odd moment, considering the ratio of Ms. Lopez's own skills. But at least it gave dull Nashville a shot of unintentional comedy.

Bohemian Grove

Original site of the Bohemian Club, a somewhat secretive men’s club that goes through some odd rituals/traditions every year in the Redwood forests of Marin. These have included powerful figures past and present, including major California political figures, every Republican President since 1923 (including Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon and both Bushes), Alan Greenspan, Bill Clinton and other major politicians and heads of industry. Here they erected a plaster statue of Buddha in the 1910′s. They later moved a few miles to the North near Jenner, where they remain to this day, a favorite subject of conspiracy theorists.

A secret little getaway for America’s male upper crust, the 2-week long annual retreat in Monte Rio, California, has all the luxuries you’d expect of an elitist clique: outdoor plays, an orchestra, delicious food and beverages, public urination, streaking, and human sacrifices, to name a few. Members enjoy opera, literature, and music.” (1)Perhaps the human sacrifices are just mock shows or theatre macabre in the style of Masonic rituals like the killing of Hiram Abiff but there are people who have escaped who say otherwise. Churchill was made a Druid in a well known presentation at Blenheim Palace and Thomas Paine correctly notes that the Masons derive their system from the Druids. This is true for all Luciferians or Heliopolitans who like to trace their history to the early shamanistic scientists and subsequent Chaos Scientists. Josh Lucas to Play Charles Lindbergh

Josh Lucas has been casted to play the famous aviator Charles Lindbergh,  for Clint Eastwood's latest movie "J.Edgar"according to Deadline.
As for the other actors who will play in the movie:

Those who do not know who Charles Lindebergh was:
Charles Augustus Lindbergh (February 4, 1902 – August 26, 1974) (nicknamed "Slim,"Lucky Lindy" and "The Lone Eagle") was an American aviator, author, inventor, explorer, and social activist.
Lindbergh, then a 25-year old U.S. Air Mail pilot, emerged from virtual obscurity to almost instantaneous world fame as the result of his Orteig Prize-winning solo non-stop flight on May 20–21, 1927, from Roosevelt Field[N 1] located in Garden City on New York's Long Island to Le Bourget Field in Paris, France, a distance of nearly 3,600 statute miles (5,800 km), in the single-seat, single-engine monoplane Spirit of St. Louis. There is never a dull moment in the Real Housewives franchises. And sometimes there are some pretty serious issues at stake, and not just showing up at a party wearing the same hue of Christian Louboutins. There are new rumors, innuendos and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills sneak peeks that are implying that cast member and former child star Kim Richards is an alcoholic. And this revelation actually explains a lot.On one episode Kim Richards sister Kyle says to Kim, “You are a liar, and sick, and alcoholic. You are an alcoholic. That’s right. I said it and everybody knows.” And then at the very end of the episode there was an update that said that “Kim’s family checked her into rehab . . . A week later, she checked herself out. She is taking her life one day at a time.”
On many episodes she is totally MIA, doesn’t participate in many of the gals events and seems a bit unhinged even for a Real Housewives cast member.

is in full-on diva mode in a new promo for "Parks and Recreation," shouting expletives at Aubrey Plaza, punching Adam Scott in the face and throwing coffee in Aziz Ansari's eyes.

In the clip posted on FunnyOrDie.com, the NBC show's cast, including, Amy Poehler, Plaza, Ansari and Scott, are in an office celebrating the series' return to the small screen on Jan. 20.
Rob Lowe steps into the room to join the fun, but expresses shock when he realizes that his handsome face hasn't been on TV for months.
"You knew that, right?" Poehler asks Lowe.
"No I did not f---ing know that," the 46-year-old actor says. "How f---ing long have I not been on television?"
A surprised Poehler tries to defuse the situation by saying it's good news that they are back.
"What's good news?" he yells. "That this [he motions to his face] has not been on TV for five f---ing months?"
Lowe then throws his cup of coffee in Ansari's face, who yells in pain. He then complains that he is out of coffee and tells Plaza, whom he calls the production assistant, to get him another.
"I'm on the show," she replies. "I was on it before you."
"There was no f---ing show before me," he says. "I'm Robert Hepler Lowe."

2011′s Coachella lineup was announced last night—and sure, it might be stacked with great bands that indie rock denizens have been fawning over since the announcement—the Death From Above 1979 reunion, the standbys like Arcade Fire, Black Keys, the Strokes, Animal Collective, Kings of Leon (if they can manage to get through this show without rescheduling).
But the one area where the festival might fall short is the kitsch factor—Duran Duran is pulling all the weight, here. For starters, people seem to actually like the new Duran Duran single in a non-kitsch way, for one reason or another. Meanwhile, a legitimate grass-roots movement had sprung up to elect another artist to round out the kistch factor at this year’s festival.
There are pages and pages filled with this sentiment. Of course there are plenty of Collins detractors who contribute terse counter-arguments like, “Yuck.” But personally I’m of the opinion that Collins’ time has come. He would have leant this year’s festival a certain cultural resonance that Duran Duran just can’t supply.

False alarm! Sorry to stir up your sympathies for nothing!
Sources have gotten in touch with 19 Entertainment, one of American Idol's production companies and the management company for many of the Idol artists, to get an update on Alex Lambert, who yesterday, tweeted that he was "kinda homeless."
In response, a spokesperson for the company insisted that Alex is "not homeless" and that the company has no idea "where that came from" since at the moment, they're paying him good money! The spokesperson explained:

“He’s on a retainer, and he’s getting money every month. He’s working on demos. He’s with writers, he’s working on music…He’s not homeless. How could he be texting? How could he be going into recording studio and sleeping on the streets? There’s no record deal yet, but hopefully these demos something could come from that.”

We were curious as to how he was able to tweet as well, but then again, there are so many places to snag free internet around El Lay, we really didn't think much of it.
19 Entertainment isn't the only one trying to clear up this misunderstanding - so is Alex. Those his tweets seemed pretty clear to us, he took to his Twitter several hours later to clarify the "miscommunication." He wrote:

“I’m a grown ass man. I’ve had so much help out here in LA! I just want to do things on my own! I have places to stay I just don’t want to be a burden on anyone! I have money! And soon I will have a place to stay! I just wanted to let y’all know! I’m not some rich spoiled kid! That I’ve had to hustle and grind and I don’t mind sleepin on the street as long as I get my chance! Because I will not take it for granted! I hope y’all understand. Sorry for the miscommunication. I’m just fine!”

Alright then. Super. Glad to hear the back of that Starbucks no longer has an occupant.

Inception Star Pete Postlethwaite Dies

The acclaimed British actor, best known for indelible roles in such films as In the Name of the Father, The Usual Suspects and Amistad, among many others, died Sunday after a long battle with cancer. He was 64.
Andrew Richardson, a journalist and close friend of Postlethwaite, announced his death today to U.K. media, saying he had died peacefully at a hospital in Shropshire, England, surrounded by his family.

With his rough-hewn face and booming voice, Postlethwaite was a commanding presence on the big screen.
After playing small parts on the British stage  and TV, Postlethwaite made his first appearance in a Hollywood film in Alien 3. He then went on to costar opposite Daniel Day-Lewis in two films, The Last of the Mohicans and In the Name of the Father, the latter of which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for playing Day-Lewis' dying father.
After gaining a slew of new fans as well as praise for his performance as Mr. Kobayashi in Bryan Singer's thriller The Usual Suspects, Tinseltown's hottest directors came calling.
Postlethwaite subsequently appeared in William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet, directed by Baz Luhrmann, and two films for Steven Spielberg, Amistad and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
Spielberg was so impressed by the grizzled thesp that he once hailed him as "the best actor in the world." Postlethwaite was said to have replied, "I'm sure what Spielberg actually said was, 'The thing about Pete is that he thinks he's the best actor in the world.' "
Postlethwaite originally hoped to be a priest, but he turned to teaching before becoming an actor. He was eventually made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.).
Other notable credits include his 1988 breakthrough, Distance Voices, Still Lives; 1996's When Saturday Comes, Dragonheart, and James and the Giant Peach; 2001's The Shipping News; 2005's The Constant Gardner; and 2009's The Age of Stupid.
Despite his illness, he also managed to appear in four films this year: Ironclad, Clash of the Titans, Inception and The Town.
Postlethwaite is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, as well as son William and daughter Mary

Wynton Marsalis on "60 Minutes" January 2, 2011 (Video)

Wynton Marsalis, America's music ambassador, was on "60 Minutes" tonight. Morley Safer went on a jazz tour with Marsalis on the Lincoln Center Orchestra on the show. The company was in London and Havana during this episode of “60 Minutes.”Jazz is uniquely American, and the show featured Wynton Marsalis bringing the music to people all over the world. This is what he considers his lifelong mission, and he came by it honestly being the son of Ellis Marsalis, a famous jazz pianist from New Orleans. New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz.
The group not only performed, but they also taught. While in Havana, Ted Nash, the band’s saxophone player, patiently showed a young Cuban girl how to coax soulful notes out of the horn. Nash said, "It's so beautiful to travel, because we get to mix with people, maybe at a point when we would normally be getting kind of worn out...we get kind of recharged a little bit from the energy of the people."
Wynton Marsalis said that "The arts are our collective human heritage. You're a better person if you know what Shakespeare was talking about. If you know what Beethoven struggled with, if you know about Matisse. If you know what Louis Armstrong actually sang through his horn, you're better." He is right, and Marsalis serves a worthy mission for his life. His “60 Minutes” appearance was memorable and beautiful. It appears as if he and his orchestra were able to touch and teach many people throughout the world. You can see the segment in the two videos below.

Valerie Bertinelli gets married; Chuck Berry collapses on stage

"Hot in Cleveland" star Valerie Bertinelli is a bride for the second time. Bertinelli and Tom Vitale had a New Year's Day wedding in Malibu; they've been together for six years and engaged since May. Her ex, Eddie Van Halen, attended the ceremony. [TMZ]

Rock 'n' roll legend Chuck Berry collapsed on stage during a concert Saturday in Chicago. Berry, 84, slumped over his keyboard and was motionless for a couple minutes before being helped offstage. He returned about 20 minutes later and tried to play but told the remaining audience he couldn't go on. Paramedics checked him out at the scene, but he refused further treatment. [Chicago Sun-Times]

Val Kilmer is in trouble with the tax man. The IRS says Kilmer ("Batman Forever," "MacGruber") owes close to $500,000 in back taxes and has placed a lien on his ranch in New Mexico, which he's trying to sell. [AP]

Skid Row frontman and sometime actor ("Gilmore Girls") Sebastian Bach and his wife, Maria Bierk, are divorcing after 18 years together. Bach says they've been separated since April and will "go our separate ways." [TMZ]
