The foundation of Rafi will host the awards Rafi Mohammed on 29 may in Mumbai with a grand concert. Kalyanji and Anandji (posthumous), K.J.Yesudas, lyricist Neeraj and Shashi Kapoor will be the recipients of this year. Anup Jalota is the main Guest.
While the reverential Yesudas declared always for love Rafi, Kalyanji-Anandji have scored hundreds of songs of singers, many of which were also filmed at Shashi Kapoor, who had hits with Rafi also with other composers. Some of the most famous Neeraj songs, such as the caravan guzar gaya, Likhe jo khat tujhe (Kanyadaan) and Mera man tera pyaasa (The Gambler) were also sung by Rafi.
